Abstract

|
A case of female newborn infant presented with hyperbilirubinemia associating high hematocrit at the age of 4 days. Baby was admitted to the hospital because of high fever and poor sucking. Jaundice revealed on the admission, and the usual causes were excluded.
The postulate is made that the hyperbilirubinemia was the result of the neonatal polycythemia.
